Hi Shampa,

As you are a Key Member, you have access to the 8 mock speaking tests that we currently have available (3 videos and 5 podcasts). By listening to these, studying the scripts and the analysis and working through the exercises, you should be well prepared for the Speaking Test.

At the end of each writing module there is a practice test for you to try with a sample answer.

I’m afraid that we only have one test available in the reading and listening sections.

We are continually adding new material to the site and will be uploading a new speaking video soon. I hope this will help you before you take the test.

When is your test date?

Hi Richelle,

To achieve a band score of 7 in speaking, you need to demonstrate a range of grammatical structures and vocabulary in your speech with little hesitation and repetition. You need to show a good degree of flexibility in order to speak on a range of topics with an awareness of collocations and idiomatic usage.

You are not expected to speak completely free of errors however, so don’t worry too much about making the odd mistake. If you can recognise your own mistake and correct it yourself, even better!

The important thing is that your speech is relatively fluent and coherent so take your time and think carefully about what you say before you say it and use linking words to join your sentences together and make yourself clear to the examiner.

For a more detailed explanation of the speaking band descriptors, look at this page from the official ielts website:

http://www.ielts.org/pdf/UOBDs_SpeakingFinal.pdf

Hope this helps. Please refer to our Speaking Practice section for example test interviews.

Best of luck.

Jenny
