Have you seen the new competition on our blog? You have to write a book or a film review to be in with a chance of winning a 3-month Key Member subscription.
So, here’s some tips to get you started.
1. Give the title of the book or the film and say if you liked it or not and give your reasons.
2. Give a brief outline of what the book or film is about.
3. Give some more details about the main character(s) and include the names of the actors if it’s a film.
4. Give some information about the style of writing if it’s a book or the direction if it’s a film.
5. Give some background information about the author or the director.
6. Say why you would(n’t) recommend the book or the film based on the information you have included in your review.
Here’s some useful vocabulary that you might want to use:
Film - plot, set, scene, dialogue, costume design, cinematography, soundtrack, acting, cast, genre, romantic comedy, thriller, action-packed, animation, love story, historic, costume drama, full of suspense, fast-paced, horror film, dramatic, hilarious, terrifying, (un)realistic, (un)believable, real-life story, (in)credible, corny, amazing, thrilling.
Book - plot, chapter, fast-paced, page-turner, full of suspense, laugh-out-loud funny, emotional, moving, descriptive, narrative, genre, intriguing, mystery, novel, fiction, character, protagonist, twists and turns in the plot, powerful, touching, emotive, dialogue, historic, readable.
