” High-level jobs are more frequently held by men than women. Should the government, therefore make a law requiring that a number of these positions be se aside for women?”
As a result of education, many women have gone to work. However, it is believed by some that high-level jobs are frequently held by men than women. This statement is not totally correct because many women have already got high jobs. Besides, the idea of making a law require that a number of these positions be set aside for women is not a good one for many reasons. All these are going to be analyzed below.
First of all, those who claim that high-level jobs are held by men only are not right. On the contrary, many women can be seen clearly, all over the world, as ministers, prime ministers and even presidents and queens. Another example is found in schools and universities where many women work as head teachers, faculty deans and chairwomen, too. Thus, the principle of leaving some high positions for women is refutable at all.
Secondly, what should be said is that the number of jobs got by men is more than that for women. This is true since the major part of family responsibility is for men. In many nations, man is still the leader who funds his family with their livings. In addition to that, there are many works which can not be done by women such as carpentry, repairing cars, building houses and other heavy jobs. Therefore, it’s not fair to let women have higher position more than men.
In conclusion, efficiency should be the criterion for promotion and not the gender. Reports about the successful clerks should be done impartially and honestly. In the future, it is expected that the number of women who will get higher ranks, will increase for the reasons above.
