Well, I know one way to improve vocab is to look for synonyms of the common words. But, my problem is how to remember all those words? I tend to forget some words and I think that’s why I got less bands in writing task of my exam.

So, what do you suggest?

EDIT: I think I posted this thread in the wrong section. Jenny, please move it to correct section.

Hi Jack, Hi Navi,

Learning new vocabulary and being able to memorise it for future use is difficult for all language learners, especially those not in a position to practice it regularly.

That’s why it’s so important to learn English by reading and listening to authentic material which contain good examples of contemporary language. Learning new language in a real and meaningful context will enable you to make a mental record of it.

It’s also important to record new vocabulary and try to incorporate it into your speaking or writing of the language as quickly as possible and to use it frequently in order to store it into your permanent store of words and expressions.

Also try and notice when the new language you have recently acquired is used - is it used frequently?

The more frequently you hear and practice using the new pieces of language the more likely you are to remember it.

You can also make a written record of new words but avoid making vocabulary lists which are difficult to remember and use in context. Try exploring the new words in more depth instead by finding out are they are used in everyday language. Write down example sentences, extracts of speech, collocations, word formations. Basically try to collect as many different examples of the new language to see the different ways in which it is used. Having more exposure to the new language, whether it is written, heard or read, will help you to remember it and start using it as part of your general repertoire.

Best wishes,

Jenny

golf drivers
In general, there are standards in place for most discount golf clubs, especially irons(ishiner). For example, most 7 iron shafts are 34.5” in length. The standard driver length is 43”. Recent advancements in driver technology has allowed for an increase discout golf in driver shaft lengths. Many drivers now come standard with 45” shafts, some even longer. The maximum legal length for drivers is 48
